They've lived along side mutants for thousands of years, without even realizing it. That is, until a few years ago. Tired of having to hide their abilities, the mutants decided to make their presence known. For some, it didn't change anything, but for others, it changed everything. Destroying families and breaking friendships, some believe that they made the worst mistake they could have ever made by revealing what they could do, and so needed a place they could go without fear from people they used to be able to trust. Thus, Caldwell Island came to be. Nathan Caldwell formed a group of people with mixed abilities and created an island, an island that would forever a safe haven for those with abilities and even those that didn't. A place where people didn't have to hide. Too bad that only lasted a few years. Two years ago, the government collapsed when all members of the island's council and the island officials died in a tragic fire. There's always been suspicion that the fire was no accident, but no one's been able to prove it. With no one to lead them, the people of Caldwell have separated into three groups. there's the Rebels, the Neutrals, and the so-called Authority. The Authority is basically the militia. they think they control everything and a lot of people would agree. The Rebels are the people's heroes. They fight for things the people need, but are to afraid to stand up to the Authority for. They do what the can to sabotage the Authority any chance they get, protecting themselves and others the best way they know how. The Neutrals are basically the people who don't want to get caught in the crossfire between the Authority and the Rebels. They keep their heads down and do the best they can to survive. As you can tell, the island has changed from the safe haven that it used to be. Living in a place like this, who knows what could happen? |
